Savannah Larimore is a graduate student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Washington.  Her research focuses of the relationship between race, place, and health in the United States.  She is currently involved in two collaborative research programs.  The first investigates the relationship between exposures to social disadvantage and environmental pollutants and the effects of these exposures on various health outcomes.  Within this research program, Savannah focuses specifically on the moderating effects of racial discrimination.  The second research program seeks to determine whether observed race and skin tone classifications correspond to variations in health among conventional, often self-identified racial and ethnic groups.  Savannah also works on various solo and collaborative research projects related to her area of interest.
