Professor Adrian Raftery Receives Ireland's St. Patrick's Medal for His Contributions to Science

On March 15th the Prime Minister of Ireland, Enda Kenny, presented Adrian with the St. Patrick's Day Medal at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.  The award is given by the Science Foundation Ireland to honor Irish-born scientists who live and work in the United States. The award acknowledges Adrian's numerous contributions to statistics and to substantive areas in sociology, demography, weather forecasting, among many others.
