Payroll

Paycheck Schedule

Paychecks are issued on the 10th and 25th of each month and are normally available around noon.  If a payday falls on a Saturday, paychecks will be issued on the previous Friday; if a payday falls on a Sunday, paychecks will be issued on the following Monday.

Paper Checks and Direct Deposit

If you do not have direct deposit you must sign for your check with the Admin Office staff.  Once your appointment is entered into the payroll system you can register for direct deposit in MyUW (go to Employee Self-Service, Earnings, Direct Deposit).  This may take up to two pay periods to become active.  If you wish to have a paper check advice delivered to the Department you will need to register for this as well.  Check advices are no longer automatically printed by Payroll, but they are available for printing from MyUW.  If you elect to have payroll send a deposit advice, it will be distributed to your mailbox.  Please remember to return the payroll envelope to the Admin Office as we re-use them.

Status Changes and Payroll Increases

When you complete your master’s degree or become a candidate, please let Jan know so that any applicable payroll increases can be processed.  These payroll changes become effective at the beginning of the next quarter.
