Nitty Gritty Manual

New Ph.D. Program Requirements as of March 2017

As of March 2017, the minimum number of required graded Sociology Electives has been reduced to 4 graded SOC courses.

NOTE: The Website is NOT YET updated!  Wherever you see a requirement of 8 graded Sociology electives, this is the old requirement, and will be updated over the next few weeks to reflect the new change, reducing this to the 4 graded Socioloy electives.

Degree Audits:
Liz Collier will be updating degree audits for everyone over the next month and send them out individually for each student to reflect this change as it affects your individual plan.

For any questions, please contact Steve Pfaff, Graduate Program Coordinator or Liz Collier, Graduate Program Assistant.

Each stage in our graduate program has requirements, procedures, and forms associated with it. The aim of these requirements and the associated paperwork is not to drive you nutty - rather, the requirements are designed to provide you with the training to advance your scholarship, and the forms should help you stay on track and to keep your advisor, the Graduate Program Coordinator, the Graduate Program Assistant, and ultimately, the Graduate School, informed of your progress.  The pages in this section of our website will provide you with all the information, forms, and details necessary to manage the formal requirements associated with completing your graduate degrees.

If you feel like you need something and can't find it, or have other questions about program requirements, email the Graduate Program Assistant, Liz Collier.
