Submitted by Katherine Stovel on

In her new book “American Bonds: How Credit Markets Shaped a Nation,” Sarah Quinn explores how the United States government has long used financial credit programs to create economic opportunities for American citizens.  From the 1780s, when a watershed national land credit policy was established, to the postwar foundations of our current housing finance system, ‘American Bonds’ examines the evolution of securitization and federal credit programs.  Sarah's book will be the focus of an author-meets-critics session at the 2019 SSHA meetings.
