Graduate Admissions Statistics
For many decades, admission to the graduate program in Sociology at UW has been extremely competitive, and we are extremely proud of the quality and diversity of our student population. Typically, we admit approximately 20% of our applicants, and our entering cohorts average 8-12 students. Currently, we have about 90 active graduate students, of whom 55% are women and approximately 20% are ethnic or racial minorities. Average GRE scores of our enrolled students are in the 1300-1400 range (combined Verbal and Quantitative), and students enter with an average college GPA of 3.8. A more complete statistical summary of our applicant pool and enrolled student body over the past decade can be found here.
